Stewardship is ALIVE at Sacred Heart
We Are The Disciples of Christ
Prayer is essential to the life of a Christian Steward. Our prayer helps us to be better aware of God’s goodness in our lives.
Prayer is also essential to one’s conversion and continues to challenge us to be better Christians.
Lent is the liturgical season that helps us prepare for the Passion of Christ.
Many times people like to do something special, especially in the area of prayer, to help them set apart this season from the ordinary. Below is a list of possible ideas that could be incorporated into daily household routines.
During this Lenten season let us allow ourselves the opportunity to grow closer to our baptismal call.
Suggestions for Prayer:

What’s the Point of Being Christian by Timothy Radcliff
* Write a Family Prayer while sharing a meal. Use this prayer during Lent.
* Teach your family how to pray the Rosary. Come together once a week to pray Rosary.
* Develop a routine for children to do chores around the house and contribute their earnings toward the Habitat for Humanity Roof project.
* Embrace a fasting routine in your life during Lent to bring you closer to God.
During this Lenten season let us give ourselves the opportunity
to grow closer to our baptismal call.
Stewardship Prayer
Generous and loving God, You call us to be disciples of your Son Jesus
and good stewards of all your many gifts.
Open our minds and hearts to a greater awareness and deeper appreciation of your countless blessings.
Transform us through the power of your Spirit
to nurture a Stewardship way of life marked by faith-filled prayer,
service to our neighbor and generous sharing.
Teach us to be faithful servants of your gifts.
With Mary’s help, may we return ten-fold the gifts entrusted to us.
Bless our Sacred Heart parish with a deepening devotion to prayer,
a growing commitment for service,
and increasing levels of generosity
as we work to advance the mission of our parish.
We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen
We are thankful for all the good stewardship efforts we see at Sacred Heart. We have an active Stewardship Committee that welcomes new members. Please contact Cathy Mills 234-6593 ext 208 if interested in hearing more about this vibrant area of parish life.
SACRED HEART STEWARD OF THE MONTH
BARB WILLE
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Mt. 25: 21
WHEN ASKED, SHE
GOES ABOVE & BEYOND
Sacred Heart's Steward of the Month for February
is a woman who sees what needs to be done and then does it.
She is always "hands on" for whatever is asked of her
and then goes above and beyond.
Barb Wille is being honored for walking the walk into involvement on the Liturgy and Centennial Committees,
as a Eucharistic Minister and for sharing her talents
in the seasonal decorating of the church.
She is the artist who created the Centennial banners in the
Jubilee Entrance and was the coordinator for the Valentine Dinner. In the past, she provided entrees for the Easter Vigil receptions and was active in the Rosary Society.
For many years, she was chairperson of the dining room
for the Fall Festival and recently provided hospitality
for the John Angotti Band.
For 18 years, Barb has shared her gifts in the
Sacred Heart Day Care program, of which she is now Director.
She is the person who initiated the Book Tree project
for Sacred Heart School's library
which now receives nearly $1,800 annually for new books
through the generosity of parishioners.
Parishoners since 1973, Barb and her husband Dale,
are the parents of Deanna of Dubuque and Justin of San Diego, CA. His fiance, Brooke Shockey, designed the logo for Sacred Heart's Centennial. In this family, it's a sign that stewardship will continue.
