Stewardship is ALIVE at Sacred Heart
We Are The Disciples of Christ

One of the strangest-sounding truths of stewardship is that the need of the giver to give is greater than the need of others to receive.
At first, it sounds strange. Strange but true! Great artistic works come forth because of the need of the artists to give within them.
We know that the Dead Sea is a dead sea because it is a dead-end, and has no outlet. It continually receives water but never gives water.

It isn’t God who needs prayer. It is the person praying who needs prayer. A person may be poor, rich, middle-class. But all people, to be fully human, need to give their time and skills and possessions to others. We are made that way…like a rose is made to give to others its beauty and fragrance. (from The Little Burgandy Book by Bishop Ken Unterner)

During this season of giving…we should reflect upon our need to give back to the Kingdom of God. Sacred Heart Parish is thankful for the many generous offerings it receives. It is the giving people in our community that create a stewardship parish by saying YES to His call of service. Please continue to re-evaluate your need to give of yourself and embrace the many wonderful opportunities at Sacred Heart Parish.

Stewardship Prayer
Generous and loving God, You call us to be disciples of your Son Jesus
and good stewards of all your many gifts.
Open our minds and hearts to a greater awareness and deeper appreciation of your countless blessings.
Transform us through the power of your Spirit
to nurture a Stewardship way of life marked by faith-filled prayer,
service to our neighbor and generous sharing.
Teach us to be faithful servants of your gifts.
With Mary’s help, may we return ten-fold the gifts entrusted to us.
Bless our Sacred Heart parish with a deepening devotion to prayer,
a growing commitment for service,
and increasing levels of generosity
as we work to advance the mission of our parish.
We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen

We are thankful for all the good stewardship efforts we see at Sacred Heart. We have an active Stewardship Committee that welcomes new members. Please contact Cathy Mills 234-6593 ext 208 if interested in hearing more about this vibrant area of parish life.

SACRED HEART STEWARDS OF THE MONTH

DIANE BOYLE

Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Mt. 25:21

A GOOD STEWARD IS A PERSON OF MUSIC
Whether you know Sacred Heart's Steward for December personally,
you know her music.
As an accompanist for the Praise Choir and
for the family group, Leap of Faith, Diane Boyle has been giving
her considerable musical talent to Sacred Heart
for more than
five years.

Beginning in second grade, Diane studied piano for six years
and then the organ for three.
She brought these learned abilities with
her to Sacred Heart
when she and her husband, Matt, joined the
parish in 1990.

In addition, this Steward of the Month was instrumental in bringing
Ministry of Moms Sharing (MOMS) to the parish.
She has assisted

with the Parent Teacher Child Committee at the school,
where the
Boyle's  younger daughter, Catherine, is in eighth grade. Their elder daughter, Melissa, is a Columbus High student.
The Fall Festival
will find Diane volunteering wherever needed
Another area of involvement, for both Diane and her husband,
is the Marriage Encounter Community Group.

This stewardship is in addition to her employment at Allen
Memorial Hospital where she serves in the Pre-Admission area.

December's Steward, Diane Boyle, is one who uses her gifts
and talents in all areas of life.
