Little Rock Scripture Study
The LITTLE ROCK SCRIPTURE STUDY date is changed to Tuesdays, starting SEPT. 25, 2007
Have you ever wondered what the Catholic Church teaches about the Book of Revelation?
All are welcome to join this eight week study of the Book of Revelation, Tuesdays from September 25 through November 13, 9:00 am to 10:30 am in O’Hagan Hall. Taped teachings by Catholic Scripture Scholars will guide discussions led by trained facilitators. The fee is $10.00 to cover the cost of the study guide and materials. Preregistration is not necessary but is helpful for planning. No prior study is required and walk ins are welcome. Call the parish office: 234-4996 to register.


Blood Drive at Sacred Heart Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007
9 am to 1 PM.
The Blood Center of Iowa will provide an opportunity to donate blood. Sign up sheets will be available in the Jubliee Entrance starting the weekend of Sept. 15 / 16 or call Nancy Aldrich: 319-610-3562.

We invite anyone interested in knowing more about Sacred Heart Parish to contact our parish office at 319-234-4996. A staff member will be happy to answer any of your questions and/or make an appointment with you to register as a parish member. Office hours are 9:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday.


October 3: "Raising Faith-filled Kids" workshop
7:00-9:00pm at Columbus High School
This is an evening for parents with nationally speaker, Tom McGrath. He will share his insights, experience, and wisdom on how to keep our children and young people connected to a faith community and Catholic tradition. All are welcome!

Mass Server Training & Update
Saturday, October 6th from 9:30-11:00am in the church
This is a training and update session for all Mass servers. NEW servers are required to attend!


C.O.R.E. classes begin!
Wednesday, October 10th from 6:30-8:00pm
at Columbus High School
These religion classes are for students in grades 9-12 attending public high school. To pre-register, contact our Coordinator, Becky Keeling, at 415-6936. Students MUST complete 7 CORE courses before they can begin preparation for Confirmation the second semester of their junior year.


John Angotti Concert: Thursday, October 11th at 7:00pm at Blessed Sacrament Church - Free will donation
CDs will be available for purchase.
John is a Christian musician, composer, vocalist, youth minister, who has been to Waterloo in previous years. His concerts are exciting and fun! He is a man of deep faith who can get young people excited about their faith! Parishioners of ALL ages are welcome!
John will be available following his concert for autographs, discussion, and more fun!

Eucharistic Minister Workshop:
Sunday, October 21st
1:00-2:00pm at Blessed Sacrament Church
Bread: Broken and Shared is the topic for keynote presenter, Fr. Pat Geary. All Sacred Heart Eucharistic Ministers, Homebound, Ravenwood, and Hospital ministers are invited to attend.

Annual Trunk or Treat Fun!
Saturday, October 27th following 5:30 Mass
Join the fun in our parking lot as children come to Mass dressed in their favorite Halloween attire (no scary or evil costumes please!).
Children walk from car trunk to car trunk to "trick or treat" in a safe environment with other Sacred Heart families. Get in the spirit of the event - decorate your car trunks as much as you like!
