RCRA
The
metro Waterloo parishes have developed a process
known as RCRA. It is an adaptation of the Rite of
Christian Initiation, designed for adults who have
already been baptized and catechized in a mainline
Christian church. RCRA is a shorter period of
discernment and preparation which concentrates on the
distinctive characteristics, rituals, and teachings
of the Roman Catholic Church. An information meeting
will be held on Sunday, January 4th at 9:15am in the
Rectory Classroom. Sessions are scheduled for Sunday
mornings, January 11-March 1 and will
meet here at Sacred Heart in the Rectory
Classroom. Please
call Pam at 234-8394 to set up an appointment to
register for these sessions.
If
you are
interested in meeting our prospective candidates and
willing to share some time as a parish companion,
please contact Pam (234-8394) or Julie (292-1500).
You may find that this is a very rewarding ministry
and even become updated in Catholic teachings and
practices yourself!
