See you there!!

SPECIAL INVITATION
We would like to extend the invitation to be a Mass server.
This will apply to new servers as well as an open invitation to current servers. If you are a 4th grade student or older,
you are invited to be a server at parish liturgies.

NEW THIS YEAR: We are also inviting adults to partner with students to serve at Mass. It could be a partnership between parent/student, a grandparent/student, or an older adult friend/student combination. We will train you together and schedule you together at the same Mass. Training will be October 10th from 9:30-11:30am. We will also offer follow-up sessions in November for those who would like additional practice.

Please consider this Mass Server ministry to the people of Sacred Heart! If you are interested, please contact Pam at 234-8394.

Youth Choir Camp: Invitation to Join the Choir

At this time, students in grades 2-6 from both the school and CCD programs are being invited
to become a member of the Sacred Heart Youth Choir for this school year 2009-10.
Students in grades 7-8 who have previously been a choir member may continue to be a part of this choir if they so choose
- and we hope you do!!

We will usually schedule one practice each month and will be scheduled to sing at either the
Saturday 5:30 Mass or on Sunday at 10:45 twice each month.
If choir members are not able to sing at both Mass times,
it is still expected that he/she will attend the practice session in order to learn new music.

This is a commitment on the part of both student
and parent(s).
The Sacred Heart Youth Choir is also asked to lead song on a number of special parish occasions:
First Communion Celebration, Catholic Schools Week Mass, Parish Renewal nights, etc.

In order to have choir members become familiar with cantoring skills and action enhancement,
we plan to kick-off this year with a "Choir Camp" on Saturday, September 26 from 9:00-11:30am.
We will have donuts and juice as a mid-morning snack for the kids.
Please pick up your children at 11:30am.
It is important that all choir members plan to attend.
This will be a time full of singing, energizers, fun, and music-making!

Our Mass schedule for September is listed below and will also be distributed at the Choir Camp.
Sept. 26 Choir Camp: 9:00-11:30am
Sept. 27 Sing at 10:45 Mass
(This is Fall Festival Sunday, so treat your family to some
time together - eating and playing games with your SH family!)
We plan to have a great time this year!

Important Announcements:

Beginning August 5th, weekday 8:00am Masses will be held
on Wednesday & Friday mornings.
Thursday Mass will be at 9:00am during the school year, beginning August 27th.
There will NOT be a weekday morning Mass
on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Watch the bulletin for the weekday Mass schedule!

Effective immediately, weekday 8:00am Masses will be cancelled whenever there is a funeral scheduled.
We will have retired priests covering Masses
during Fr. Lou's absence,
thus we have adopted this policy to simplify their duties.
Thank you for your understanding!

Are you angry about some church-related issue? Have you been hurt or rejected by a church person? Has your present marital status left you estranged or unwelcome in the Catholic Church? Are you participating in another church but still feel that “I’m a Catholic and I’ll always be a Catholic.” Do you feel uncomfortable saying “I’m a spiritual person but I’m not religious?” Would you like someone to listen to the events, people or circumstances which brought you to your present religious status?

These listening sessions are an opportunity to discuss your past, present or future relationship to the Catholic faith community in a safe, discrete, and welcoming environment. We’re here to listen, not to judge. If there is some way we can be helpful to you in your present spiritual circumstance, we will arrange whatever additional help or assistance you desire as a followup to the listening session.
