Thanksgiving Ecumenical Service

PLEASE COME!
You are invited
to the Church Row Ecumenical Service
to celebrate Thanksgiving.
This year, Sacred Heart Parish is celebrating our
Centennial – 100 years of serving in the “Heart” of
Waterloo.
We have held special events and activities every
month to celebrate this milestone moment in our
history.
This month, it is our pleasure to host
the annual Ecumenical Thanksgiving service
in gratitude for the relationship we have shared with
other
Church Row congregations for many decades.
When Sacred Heart was established in 1909,
47 Catholic families and 67 of our non-Catholic
neighborhood families
raised enough money to build our church.
In thanksgiving for all members of our Church Row
neighborhood,
we hope you will come help us celebrate our 100
history!
Sunday, November 22, 2009
at 5:00pm at Sacred Heart Church.
We are hosting a soup & dessert meal following
the service.
Please stay for food and fellowship!
We are also inviting children from your congregation
who are in grades 2-8
to join our Sacred Heart Youth Choir
in leading the music for the service.
Children should plan to come to Sacred Heart Church
at 4:15pm for a short rehearsal.
We look forward to sharing prayer, stories, food, and
fellowship
with you at this special Centennial celebration for
our parish!

The 8th ANNUAL
TRUNK OR TREAT will be Saturday,
Oct. 24, following the 5:30 PM Mass.
Kids dress in costume
for Mass (as their patron saint or a fun Halloween
costume. No scary or
violent character costumes PLEASE!) This year our neighbors, First
United Methodist Church, will join us in the trunk
treating. Parishioners park in the large Randolph St.
Parking lot, and the First Methodist lot. Bring
treats in your car trunk for kids and they will go
trunk or treat after Mass. Last year we treated over
100 kids! Randolph St. and the First Methodist drive
will be blocked off after Mass to provide safety for
the kids. Bring flashlights and umbrellas if it looks
like rain. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served
in the dining room, provided by the Community
Caregiving Commitee.
