PASTORAL COUNCIL
The Pastoral Council is an advisory body to the pastor. The council utilizes the many and varied gifts of the laity to lead the parish community in the discernment and expression of its mission. Members will be assigned to serve as representatives of the council on other committees based on the persons experience or desire.
The Pastoral Council shall be a consultative body whose policies and decisions require the authority of the Pastor to become effective.
To provide a structured way for laity and priests to coordinate, encourage, promote and participate in the apostolic, spiritual and administrative work of the parish.
To provide a continuous and integrate survey of the spiritual and temporal needs of the parish and the community, and, after setting goals, to assist subcommittees in implementing programs aimed at meeting these needs
To serve as a permanent structure for constructive dialogue among the Pastor and laity of the parish, and with the Archbishop and his representatives, so that all can work in close cooperation, as a truly Christian community, in fulfilling the mission of Christ.
To plan for the growth and direction of the parish community.To cooperate with and effectively implement the guidelines and directives given by the Archbishop and his designated representatives.
